CARTHEL, GUY H.

LOCKNEY, April 6 (Special) - Guy Herbert Carthel, 79, retired farmer, died today at 2 p.m. in Northwest Hospital in Amarillo.

Death was due to injuries suffered Friday when he fell from the drawbar of a plow.

He was a long time resident of Lockney.

He is survived by four sons, five brothers, two sisters, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The sons are Luis, Veloy and John Ed Carthel, all of Amarillo, and Marion Carthel of Gallup. The brothers are B. R. Carthel, Francis Carthel and John Carthel all of Lockney, Milford Carthel of Plainview and Ross Carthel of Abilene. Sisters are Mrs. R. A. Cunyus and Mrs. Della Wilmon both of Lockney.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the West Side Church of Christ, Earl Gibson and Earl Cartwell of Silverton, Church of Christ ministers, will officiate.

Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.
