Meghan Lee Mattson-Berglund
Meghan Lee Mattson-Berglund, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on February 26, 2010 at the age of 33, due to complications from cystic fibrosis.
She was born May 2, 1976 at Chisago Lakes Hospital to Linda (Richard) Hermann and Robert (Mary) Carter. She graduated from Chisago Lakes High School in 1994. May 5, 2001, Meghan married Kirk Berglund at Chisago Lake Lutheran in Center City.
Meghan enjoyed working with special needs children as a teacher's aide. She enjoyed traveling, sun bathing, boating, and spending time with friends, family and her beloved mini schnauzers Pal and Morgan.
Meghan's smile and personality would brighten a room. Even when she was struggling with cystic fibrosis, she was always able to lift those around her. She had a spark in her eyes that no one will ever forget. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Meghan was preceded in death by her father Lawrence "Bud" Mattson. She is survived by her husband Kirk, mother Linda (Richard) Hermann, father Robert (Mary) Carter, sisters Jennifer (Sam) Madison, and Katy (Chad) Winecke, nephew Cole, niece Trinity, in-laws Gary (Nancy) Berglund, Kim (David) Paehlke, Krista (Nate) Jannusch, nieces Hailey, Kelsey, Jenna, and Kaley, nephews Kaleb and Brenden, and countless relatives and friends.
We would also like to send a special thank you to all the staff at the U of M who have become an extended family.
Funeral Services were Wednesday March 3, at Chisago Lake Lutheran Church in Center City with a private family interment at a later date. Arrangements by the Grandstrand Funeral Home in Lindstrom. Condolences may be left at www.grandstrandfh.com.
