Mr. Ernest C. Carter, 90, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at Ogeechee Area Hospice, Statesboro.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home, Statesboro, with Dr. Maurice Crowder and the Revs. David Hudson and Bob Conley officiating.
Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery, Statesboro.
Mr. Carter, a lifelong resident of Bulloch County, was owner and operator of Carter's Turpentine Still and was a farmer, fertilizer agent and ginner.
He was Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Loraine Carter; two sons, Max Carter and Mike Carter, both of Portal; a daughter, Kay Anderson, Twin City; two stepsons, Connie Brown, Statesboro, and Roger Brown, Orlando, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Lisa Watkins, Statesboro, and Glenda Metts, Augusta; three sisters, Clyde B. Lynes, Portal, Lois Thomas, Statesboro, and Grace Smith, Swainsboro; and eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Toby Carter, Joey Carter, Kim Carter, Connie Brown, David Spillman and Ronald
