Marjorie Broderick PORTSMOUTH
Marjorie Broderick of the 1400 block of Carson Crescent West passed away July 25, 2005, in Sentara Nursing Home after a long illness tended by a loving and caring staff. Marjorie was born and raised in New York City by her parents, John and Violet Carter, formerly of Barbados, West Indies. Marjorie’s husband of 56 years, Alfred Broderick and her son, Jeffrey, survive her. She was a talented pianist and devoted homemaker who lived in Queens, N.Y., until her husband’s retirement when they decided to relocate to Portsmouth. Other surviving relatives are Marjorie’s sisters, Beryl Rice and Jeanne Gaither; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Calamese; brothers-in-law, Donald Broderick and Lester Gaither; cousin, Lisle Carter; and a host of nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Corprew Funeral Home Chapel, Portsmouth. Burial will be in the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. Viewing at the funeral home will begin at noon today. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Condolences may be sent to www.corprewfuneralhome.com.
