OGDENSBURG — Funeral Services for Eleanor M. "Honey" Cutwa, age 79, of Ogdensburg, will be held on January 24, 2012 at Frary Funeral Home at 10 am with Rev. F. James Shurtleff officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be held on Monday January 23, 2012 at Frary Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Mrs. Cutwa passed away on Friday January 20th at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center in Ogdensburg. Arrangements are under the direction of Frary Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cutwa is survived two sons; Paul Cutwa and his wife Susan of Ogdensburg, Louis Cutwa of Ogdensburg, three daughters; Mary Cutwa and her fiance Donald Shaver Jr. of Ogdensburg, Debra Smith of Ogdensburg and Jacqueline Coolberth of Texas. She is also survived by twelve Grandchildren and eleven Great Grandchildren. She is survived by her brothers; Charles "Chick" Carter and his wife Carol of Ogdensburg, Danny Carter of Ogdensburg, Charlotte Casselman of Prescott, Ontario and Edna Paro and her husband Robert of Richville, NY. One sister-in-law; Donna Cutwa also survives her. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her Husband John "Jack" Cutwa, and also her brothers Walter Carter, Lawrence Carter and Earl Carter. A Granddaughter Jessie Holbrooke and a Great Grandson Christian Diaz Fragoso.
Eleanor was born on May 03, 1932 in Ogdensburg, NY the daughter of the late John and Mary (Hess) Carter. She attended Ogdensburg schools. On January 16, 1954 she married John "Jack" Cutwa at the Notre Dame Church by Msgr. A.D. Charbonneau. Jack passed away on January 16, 2004. She worked for J.J. Newberry from 1950-1954 and also worked at as a crossing guard from 1974-1979 at John F. Kennedy Elementary school. She spent the next thirty years working for Sholette's Steak and Ale as a cook from 1974 until her retirement in 2004.
Mrs. Cutwa enjoyed bingo at various halls around the area, decorating, crossword puzzles, and spending time with grandchildren.
Donations may be made in her memory to the charity of one's choice.
