Carolyn Aldrich Carson passed away at La Vida Llena in Albuquerque, NM on November 13, 2016 surrounded by her children.
Carolyn was 94 years old.
Carolyn was born in Aiken, SC and grew up in Anderson, SC.
Carolyn graduated from Anderson Girls High School in 1939 and attended Anderson Baptist College. Carolyn and her late husband, Col. Charles R. Carson Sr. were high school sweethearts and were married for 62 years. They had 30 wonderful years in the United States Air Force traveling over the United States and Europe. They retired in Albuquerque, after having been stationed there from 1948 until 1951, and then again in 1965.
Over the years, Carolyn was a Sunday School Teacher, Cub Scout Den Mother, Girl Scout Leader and Teen Town Director at RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk, England. Carolyn loved to make beautiful flower arrangements, do oil paintings and water colors. Carolyn was formerly a member of the Cosmopolitan Woman’s Club and Hoe Handlers Garden Club. Carolyn was a member of the Retired Officer’s Wives Club and Duty Officer’s Spouses Club. Carolyn particularly enjoyed her ROWC Gourment Group. Carolyn always enjoyed meeting new people, serving as Welcoming Chairman of the OWC at various bases where she and Charles were stationed. Carolyn attended Kirtland Air Force Base Chapel for many years and was a devoted member of the Protestant Women of the Chapel. Carolyn is survived by her brother, Homer E. Aldrich Jr. of Wagner, SC. Her family includes three children, Cathy Tschasar, Chris Hyde and Charles Carson Jr. Carolyn was very close to her two sons-in-laws, Ray Hyde and Steve Tschasar. Her grandchildren include Cyndi Waldemar, Ashlee Pfleiderer, Jessica Gill, Kassandra Carson, Austin Hyde and James Hyde. Carolyn has six great-grandchildren, Grayson Gill, Ashtynn Gill, James Pfleiderer, Keegan Hyde, William Hyde and Olivia Hyde.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at La Vida Llena, 10501 Lagrima de Oro Rd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111.
