Mrs. Edna C. Bemus - Funeral services for Mrs. Edna C. Bemus, 81, of 2518 Violet Road, will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow in the
Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Don F. Pevey, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial be in
Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Mrs. Bemus died at 12:15 p.m. yesterday in a local hospital after a short illness.

A native of Grayson, Ky., she had lived in Highland Park, Ill., before moving to Corpus Christi in 1935. She was the widow of Frank Bemus.

Mrs. Bemus was Corpus Christi's first policewoman and the first director of the city welfare department. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, John Bemus of Staunton, Va., and William Bemus of Corpus Christi; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
