Rev. John H. Carroll, age 77, passed away Saturday, December 23, at his residence in Shoals after a brief illness.
Rev. Carroll was a retired minister of the Immanuel Missionary Church. He was born on October 17, 1884 in Orange County and was the son of Hickman and Sarah E. (King) Carroll. Survivors include his second wife, Mary (Morrow) Carroll, whom he married June 9, 1952 and the following sons and daughters: Rev. Lee Carroll, Haiti, West Indies; Rev. Wm. Carroll, Columbus, Indiana; Rev. Ernest Carroll, Anderson Indiana, formerly pastor at Shoals; John and James Carroll, both of Indianapolis, Mrs. Gladys Waggoner, Frankfort, Indiana; Mrs. Edna Eggman, Anderson, Indiana; Mrs. Mamie Bramble, Crittenden, Ky.; Mrs. Ruth Jewell, Bloomington; Mrs. Bessie Taylor, Shoals; and Mrs. Geneva Croswait, Cincinnati Ohio. Rev. Carroll is also survived by two brothers, Porter of Knightstown and Wm. of Loogootee and one sister, Mrs. Grace Howard of Loogootee.
The funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday (DST) at the Shoals Pilgrim Holiness Church and burial will be at Columbus, Indiana.
