Joan Carr, passed into the light on September 14, 2004, in Los Gatos, CA, after a brief respiratory-related illness. Born Barbara Joan Squires February 24, 1937 in Phoenix, AZ, to Gwen and George Squires. She was a loving mother and is survived by two sons, Steve Cummings of Pacific Grove, CA, Ken Cummings of Lahaina, Maui, HI; sister Kathryn Marrs of Santa Barbara, CA, and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, friends and relatives. Joan was proud of her Scottish heritage. Arriving in the Santa Barbara area as a child, she graduated from Santa Barbara High School (class of 1955) and attended UC Santa Barbara. She had been a resident of Los Gatos and the San Jose area for over 44 years. She loved the outdoors, travel, and was fond of Native American traditions. Memorial service held September 23, 2004, at DARLING FISCHER CAMPBELL MEMORIAL CHAPEL, Campbell, CA. Final resting place with her parents at Santa Barbara Cemetery, Santa Barbara, CA.
