Aura Ethelyn Carncross, a well respected citizen of this vicinity for many years, passed away at her home in Sheridan Township, Clare County, Michigan on Sunday morning, February 4, 1951, following a lingering illness, at the age of 61. She was born the daughter of Orson and Effie Blystone, near Greenville, Montcalm County, March 27th, 1889, the oldest of a family of four children, two brothers and one sister, the sister preceding her in death in infancy. She moved with her parents to Arthur Township, Clare County, in the fall of 1898, where she grew to womanhood. On May 31, 1908, she was united in marriage to Arthur J. Carncross. To this union were born four children, now Eathl G. Penrose, Everett G., Leonard D. and Wayne M., all of Clare. She leaves to mourn their loss, besides her husband and four children; two brothers, Glen O., of Clare, and Judd F., of Ann Arbor; six grandchildren, five nieces, three nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She was active in the work of the Church of God, gave her heart to the Lord at an early age, and remained faithful to the end. Interment was made in Cherry Grove Cemetery. Those attending from a distance were: Judd Blystone and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Blystone and two daughters, all of Ann Arbor; Mr. and Mrs. Norman Blystone and daughter, Clyde Smith and Vida Smith, all of Lansing; Alvin Rich, of Hillsdale; and Mr. and Mrs. Gail Adair, of Manchester, Michigan.
