She was born Feb. 24, 1950, in Springfield, the daughter of Jack and Violet Perkins Carncross. She married Gary C. Ahrens in 1973.
Mrs. Ahrens, a homemaker, attended Westside Christian Church.
Survivors: husband, Gary; two daughters, Christine (husband, Don) Rummans of Springfield and Lynn (husband, Robert) Gerton of Bedford, Ind.; four grandchildren; parents, Violet and Jack Carncross of Springfield; two sisters, Colleen (husband, Paul) Davis of Springfield and Kathleen (husband, Dewey) Yaeger of DeKalb; brother, Gordon (wife, Elaine) Carncross of West Chicago; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
