May retired as a librarian for the Carswell Air Force Base Library. She was an avid lover of books and learning as well as a dedicated gardener and herbalist.
She was preceded in death by father, E.L. Jackson; mother, Jimmie Ford Jackson; and sister Jane Ann Jackson.
Survivors: Husband of 53 years, Ralph Carnahan; son, James Carnahan and wife, Louann; daughter, Margaret Penney and husband, Dennis; son, Joel Carnahan and wife, Helene; grandchildren, Daniel and Logan Penney, James R., Meighan and Aaron Carnahan; and siblings, Lessie Spindle, Dorothy Ward, Ruth Ramey, Carroll Coffman, Quentella Garza and James Jackson.
