Mrs. Winnie S. Sherer, 72, of Gladwin, died suddenly Wednesday, Jan. 28, at her home at 420 Elk St. Born in Gladwin from Holland in November 1971. The former Winnie Carnahan, she was married to Emil J. Sherer on December 31, 1943, in Detroit. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1972.
Surviving are one son, Richard Raymond of Holland; two brothers, Ray Carnahan of Gladwin and Ernest Carnahan of Beaverton; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Dennings of Gladwin, Mrs. Edith Basner of Flint and Mrs. Lillie Bell Waltz of Toledo, Ohio; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Rites were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin. The Rev. Jerry Locher officiated and burial was in the Highland Cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 2-4/1976 Column – 5 Page – 2.
