Gerald Cargill, 91, of Hart, passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility in Hart. Gerald was born March 28, 1912 in Oceana County to Jesse & Nettie (Johnson) Cargill. He married Mary Fuller March 16, 1935 in Hart. Gerald worked for many years at the Oceana County Road Commission & retired in 1974.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Harley & Mary Kay Cargill of Florida and Jerry & Mary Cargill of Hart; sisters, Lila Smith of Shelby and Margaret & Emery Kinney of Ludington; a brother, Lloyd & Dorothy Cargill of Hart; 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by daughter, Arlene Cargill, and brother, Donald Cargill.

Funeral service will be at the Tate Funeral Chapel, 1pm Thursday, Feb. 19, [2004] with Rev. Ron Rickard officiating. Burial will be in Hart Cemetery. Visitation will be 11am-1pm Thursday prior to service at the funeral home. Arrangements by Tate Funeral Chapel, Hart.
