Amarante was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Tomé.
Amarante retired from Sandia National Laboratories after 33 years and formed his own company El Cerro Electric. Amarante graduated from Los Lunas High School and graduated from National Trade School in Los Angeles, CA, with an associate’s degree in electrical engineering.
Amarante was preceded in death by his son, Anthony, parents, Manuel and Juanita, brothers, Joe and Alfred and great-granddaughter, Mikayla.
Amarante is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Ida, seven children, Beatrice (Thomas), Angela (Charles), Patricia (Tobias), Vincent (Lena), Gene (Peggy), Carl and James, eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
All services will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 beginning with a Visitation at 10:00 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the many medical providers involved in the supportive care and a special think you to his beloved caregiver, his son, James.
