Frankie LaVerne Arthur, 79, of Buna, Texas died Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 13, at First Baptist Church in Buna with burial at Antioch Cemetery in Buna. Visitation will be Sunday, March 12, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Buna from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Born February 7, 1938 in Port Arthur, Texas to Amelia (Broussard) and Alvie LeRoy Capps, she was a lifelong resident of Buna.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Shelby Gene Arthur, a son, Shelby Gene Arthur, Jr., and brothers Kenneth "Jake" Capps, Melvin "Jim" Kebodeaux, and Alvie "Sonny" Capps.
Survivors include her children, Reneé Carrell of Buna, Tammy Arthur of Buna, and Duane Arthur & Loriann of Katy; a brother, Charles "Tony" Capps & Shirley of Anacoco, Louisiana; a sister, Delores Bryan of Friendswood, Texas; 10 grandchildren, Christopher Smith & Regina, Randy Carrell & April, Daniel Carrell & Sylenna, Tara McClelland, Jessica Johnson, Colton Johnson, and London Arthur; and 6 great grandchildren, Paris, Cody, Taylor, Brayden, Carter, and Jackson.
