Funeral services were held in the Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home with committal in the family space at Grand Island cemetery with Alfred King, Grant Olson, Joe Hayward, George Johnson, Boyd Desch & J.L. Patterson, co-workers at the Albert Braune Fruit company as pallbearers. There were many floral tributes & the services were well attended. In attendance from out of the city were: Mr. & Mrs. Orval Wolfinger of Emerald, Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Cappen & Mr. & Mrs. Wilbur Cappen of Lincoln, Mr. & Mrs. A.E. Hickerson of Kansas City, Amos Cappen & son & Mr. & Mrs. Earl Cappen & son of Weeping Water, Mr. & Mrs. George Cappen & son of Winslow, Mr. & Mrs. Ira Cappen of Omaha, Mrs. Jessie Young of Guernsey, WY, Mrs. Nellie Bickford of Soldier, KS, Mrs. Lillian Brown of Wabash, Mr. William O'Neill of Camden, MI, Mr. & Mrs. George Swaim & son, Mrs. Sula Callaway, Mrs. Pat O'Neill, Mrs. John Bays, Mr. & Mrs. Harry Hoage, Kathryn Dietrich & Mrs. Mabel Sturgin all of Ravenna, Tom Guilfoyle & family of Lexington, & Mrs. Glenn Bateman of Gibbon. Mr. Cappen died in a local hospital following a long illness. The family home is at 1715 West Second Street.
