Alonzo Caneer, brother of Messrs. Caneer, of Senath, died two miles North of there on J.B. Cooks farm Tuesday night, of pneumonia, a result of measles. He had a family. His brother, J.I. Caneer is also down with pneumonia. (Taken from the March 9, 1900 Dunklin Democrat, Kennett, Missouri newspaper)

According to Z.P. Caneer, J.A.'s brother, John Alonzo was a hard working farmer who married Bettie Alice Via. (Taken from the Caneer Family Tree written by Z.P. Caneer).
