OWENSBORO, Ky. - David Dwight Canary, 61, died Thursday, June 25, 2009, at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born April 26, 1948, in Daviess County, Ky., to the late Leonard Allen and Wanda (Bowlds) Canary. Also preceding him in death was a brother, Ronnie Dean Canary in 2001.

He was a union construction worker for many years.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Canary of Owensboro; four sons, Timmy of Tennessee and Shane, Shawn and Cody, all of Owensboro; three sisters, Connie Simpson of Tell City, Diane Bishop of Evansville and Peggy Rowland of Bardwell; four brothers, Dale of Tennessee, Marshall of Utica, Ky., James of Owensboro and Glenn of Evansville and four grandchildren, Misty, Madison, Jagger and Dillion Canary.

Funeral services were Saturday, June 27, at Taylor-Wood Funeral Home in Lewisport, Ky.

Memorial contributions may be made to his family in care of the funeral home.
