Marjory R. Halsey, age 85, of Kennett Square, PA passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Crosslands. She was the wife of the late Charles G. Halsey who passed away in 1982 and with whom she shared 38 years of marriage.
Born in Doune, Scotland she was the daughter of the late John and Marjory Anderson Campbell.
As a nurse she served in the British Army during WWII. She met her husband while he was stationed in London where they were married. She came to the United States in 1946, and resided in West Grove until she moved to Crosslands.
She was a member of Avondale Presbyterian Church.
Marjory worked as an interior decorator, and also worked with her long time friend, Mary Fay Glass making custom draperies and window treatments. She was a talented needlewoman in the arts of sewing, knitting, and counted cross stitch. She also volunteered at the Jennersville Hospital for many years. She was an avid golf player, and a loving wife and mother who will be greatly missed by her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Lambert and her husband, Cary of West Grove, PA; and four grandchildren, Melanie Lambert of Baltimore, Md,, Ashley Kappler of Fairfax, Va., Gregory Lambert of Newark, De., and Meredith Lambert of Philadelphia, Pa; a great-grandson, Richard Norman Kappler III of Fairfax, Va., and a niece, Margaret Carter of Wilmington, DE. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son, Charles Glenn Halsey III.
There will be a memorial service for Marjory at 2 PM on Saturday, April 10 at Crosslands Community, Kennett Square, Pa.
