Carlton Robert Campbell, 84, of 1233 Greenacre Ct. Wabash, IN, died Sunday, November 28, 2004 at 10:07 pm at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born on March 14, 1920 in Hartford, Michigan to Clayton and Lota (Connett) Campbell. He married Florence Carpenter in Wabash on April 20, 1946.
He retired from Container Corporation in 1984 after 39 years. He was a member of the Wabash First United Methodist Church, and the Wabash American Legion Post 15. He served in the US Army for 5-1/2 years during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Florence Campbell of Wabash, IN; two sons, Michael (Linda) Campbell, Sr. of Wabash, IN, and David (Cecilia) Campbell of Palm Harbor, FL; a daughter, Patricia (Joe) Pense of Logansport, IN; four sisters, Leona Hutchins of Wabash, IN, Bonnie Tappan of Three Oaks, MI, Margaret Lowe of Three Oaks, MI, and Alice Salisbury of Scheererville, IN; six grandsons, Michael (Andrea) Campbell, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN, Brian Campbell of Muncie, IN, Andrew Campbell of Muncie, IN, Scott (Lynda) Pense of Logansport, IN, Ryan Pense of Logansport, IN, and Christopher Pense of Logansport, IN; a granddaughter, Jasmine (Bryan) Kippel of Palm Harbor, FL; three great-grandsons, Collin Campbell of Indianapolis, IN, Bryan Kippel of Palm Harbor, FL, and Zachary Kippel of Palm Harbor, FL; two great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Pense of Logansport, IN, and Rochelle Pense of Logansport, IN.
Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave. Wabash, IN on Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 2:00pm. Rev. Chris Madison will officiate. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion, IN. Friends may call from 2-7pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are First United Methodist Church.
