He was the son of John P and Lydia Garrison CALVIN. He was the husband of Electa Pelton. He was the father of Jennie and William. His occupation was listed as shoemaker. He lived for a number of years in the soldiers home after the deaths of his immediate family before 1891.

Corporal of Capt John Yeager, Co. I 111 Regiment OVI, enrolled 18 Aug 1862 to serve 3 years or during the war. Discharged 13 May 1865, at Nashville Tenn, by reason of Maccordance with instructions in telegram from War Dept Dated May 3, 1865. No objection to his being re-enlisted is known to exist.
