Daughter of Garnet and Hugh Callihan.
Her childhood was marked by an adventurous, rural life amongst family, friends and horses. During World War II, Ruth joined the U.S. Coast Guard and was stationed in San Francisco, where she met her first husband, Robert Donahue. Together, they had four children.
In 1967, Ruth married George Brown and they fulfilled a dream of buying land and personally building their home in Healdsburg, California. It was there, for the last 46 years that Ruth lived her life as a brave adventurer, an avid traveler, a talented pie baker, grower of beautiful roses, a mean card player and a Nan to many.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jack Callihan; and her son, Michael Donahue.
She is survived by her husband; her sister; her daughters; stepson; numerous grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for May 26th at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Mound Cemetery in Healdsburg.
