Chugiak resident Minerva Nell Callender, 79, died June 24 at her home.
A memorial visitation will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Kehl's Forest Lawn Mortuary Chapel with Dough Ghraham officiating.
Ms. Callender was born Oct. 25, 1913, in Beach, N.C.
She liked to dance, and to play bridge and golf. She enjoyed game shows on television, especially "Wheel of Fortune," and she loved to travel.
Ms. Callender is survived by her daughter, Cordia Montague of Chugiak; her sister, Hazel Clark of Vancouver, Wash.; her brothers, Roger Lawhead of Vancouver, Wash., and Don Lawhead of Kodiak; her grandchildren, Chreri Pfunder of Eagle River, and Cathy and Charles Montague of Eagle River; her great- grandchildren, Candy Miller and Catrina Sorenson of Anchorage, William and Joshua Pfunder of Eagle River, and Charles Montague and Krystal Mavis of Chugiak; and her great-great-grandchild, Stormy Sorenson of Anchorage.
