Mark Raymond Callender, 58, of Granite City, IL, died at 1:46 a.m. Sun. Feb. 2, 2014. He was born July 30, 1955 in Madison Co., IL to Raelene (Brown) Callender of Mulberry Grove, IL and the late Raymond Callender.
Mark was a US Navy veteran and retired from Ralston Purina. He was a Mason and a Shriner. He enjoyed shooting pool and watching football.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by: 5 daughters, Lenette (Sheldon) Hendrix of Poplar Bluff, MO, Stephanie Schooley, Melissa Flowers (Antonio Buffo) Dawn Callender and Christine Callender all of Granite City, 5 sons, Joshua Underwood of Phoenix, AZ, Arron Underwood (Angie Allen), Cody (Meghan) Callender, Marc Callender & "Gator" Callender all of Granite City, 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Keith Callender of Winona, MO and Drew Callender of Granite City, a sister, Elizabeth "Lisa" Callender of Glen Carbon, IL and his former wife, Terry Callender of Granite City.
Besides his father, he was preceded in death by: a daughter, April Callender, a grandson, Kyle Dickens, a former wife, Darlene Ann Callender and a step-brother, Bobby Coble.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of family services at 7:00 p.m. Thurs. Feb. 6, 2014 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory. Cremation will follow.
Memorials may be made to the family.
