Cornelio L. Callahan Jr. was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, on March 17, 1901. Cornelio was the son of Cornelius (Cornelio) Callahan Sr. (1852-1927), and Guadalupe Lucero (1865-1934). His father was born in New York (some say Michigan), and his mother was born in Santa Fe. He married Jenevieve Romero (b. At the age of 30, Cornelio passed away due to complication of Pellagra, most likely as a result of his alcoholism.
