Tony Califano was sent to Heaven September 5, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in San Pedro, Tony was a true San Pedran who graduated from both Dana Junior High and San Pedro High School. Tony was a standout All City football player at San Pedro High and was the high school class president of 1950. He went on to serve in the U.S. Coast Guard. After the service, Tony began a career in insurance and then went on to be a successful real estate broker for over 50 years. Tony's generosity was larger than life. His wit, charm and guidance will be truly missed by his family and many friends. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia and her daughter, Tiffany, and his four children, Guy (Jackie), Peter (Gina) Julie and Phillip (Erika) and his many grandchildren, Valerie (Jordan), Giana, Tessa, Laina, Tony and Ava and great-grandchildren, Dawson, Savanna, Jaycee, Marverick and Eli. In lieu of flowers, you can make donations to Norris Cancer Center. Funeral services will be held at Mary Star of the Sea Church, San Pedro on Tuesday, September 11 at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Green Hills Memorial Park at 27501 South Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes Ca.
