Alice Sara Caldwell Blankenship
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 19, at 2:00 PM in Doughty-Calhoun-O'Meara Mortuary Chapel for Alice S. Caldwell Blankenship, 85, who passed away March 15 in Mercy Hospital. Mrs. Blankenship was a long time Kern County resident and was born January 28, 1899 in Prescott, Arizona and lived her childhood in Williamsburg Valley. She later moved with the family to Granite Station, and thereafter, upon marriage, moved to Wasco whre she lived until 1943. Then after fifteen years of living outside of Kern County, she returned to spend the rest of her life in Bakersfield. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Earl, and her daughter Laura Ann. Mrs. Blankenship is survived by a son Robert Lawrence and three grandchildren, Michael Lee Blankenship, Ruth Ann Wright, and Christopher Stainaker, Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Bert Rhodes of the Olive Knolls Church of the Nazarene. Interment will follow the services at Union Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 2:00 until 5:00 PM and Monday from 9:00 until service time.
