Mrs. Gladys C. Brown, 87, of Pensacola, passed away January 15, 2004 following a brief illness. Mrs. Brown was the youngest of Charlie and Lula Fields Caldwell's three daughters. Her parents, and a sister, Irene Carr preceded her in death. A native of Quincey, Florida, she was educated in the public schools of Quincy, Florida. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics at FAMC and worked in Gadsden, Bay and Escambia County School Systems for over thirty years. She met and married Wilie R. Brown in 1940 with whom she shared a loving and caring relationship until his death in 1969. Her spiritual commitment was started at an early age at Arnett Chapel A.M.E. Church in Quincy, Florida. She held membership at Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church for over fifty years. She was a charter member of the Pensacola Chapter, The Links, Inc. She leaves to cherish memories of her and continue to celebrate her life, three daughters, Antoinette Brown Goodman (Percy) of Pensacola, FL., Rosemary Brown Nelson (Thess) of Pensacola, FL., Blanche Brown White (Danny) of Tallahassee, FL.; two sons, Wiliam C. Brown (Juliette) of Pensacola, FL., and Charles B. Brown (Jackie) of Hephzibah, Ga.; a sister, Blanche C. Bonner of Waycross, Ga.; eight grandchildren; eight great great-grandchildren; two nieces, Frances Sykes (Joseph) and Gladys Blalock (Daniel); three great nieces; two dear friends, Rose Hicks and Lauren Barton; and several other relatives and many friends. Arrangements by Joe Morris and Son Funeral Home. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery.
