Gospel preacher and school teacher. James W. Caldwell was born in Spring Hill, TN Sept. 10, 1922. He was educated in the Maury County school system and received his B. S. and Masters Degrees from Fisk University in Nashville, TN. He taught school in Maury County over thirty years. In the late 50s he began preaching the gospel after training and guidance of the eldership at Jefferson St. church of Christ. He preached at the New Town church of Christ for three years and at the Taylor Street in Pulaski, TN for three years; at the Gaines Street church of Christ in Lawrenceburg for three years and the 2nd Avenue church of Christ in Lewisburg, TN for seven years and at Whites Creek church of Christ in Nashville for five years. He died Dec. 13, 1989. He was buried at Pine Crest Cemetery.
