At the age of 12 years she was baptized in the Baptist Church by her father, Reverend Robert Turner, pioneer minister of Pawnee county. March 13, 1867, she was united in marriage to Thomas J. Butler who preceded her in death.
She made her home in Pawnee City from 1867-1899, then moved to Webster County Nebraska where she has lived since.
Mary leaves to mourn her passing a daughter, Mrs. T.H. Hawkins of Red Cloud; 2 grandchildren; and three sisters, Kate, Eliza and Anna.
Interment was in the Pawnee City Cemetery.
