She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church for nearly 70 years, having joined that church when Rev. Hoshour was the pastor. For about 30 years she was the efficient superintendent of the Sunday school of the church. She was a very faithful worker, and was always found among the foremost in all matters pertaining to the church.
Her husband, Peter J. Adams, died about 14 years ago.
She is survived by one son, John U. Adams, who was at one time editor of the old Daily News; and five granddaughters, Miss Sarah Adams, Mrs. Harry R. Rudy, Mrs. Elmer Plant, Mrs. Clyde Wilson, all of this city; and Mrs. J.W. Seaman, Washington, DC. Two sisters also survived, Mrs. Susan Snook, Springfield, WV; and Mrs. Mary J. Lowery, Maugansville, who is not visiting in Illinois.
The arrangements for the funeral have not yet been made.
