Katie Myrtle Burton Rites Held Tuesday
Funeral services for Katie Myrtle Burton, 52, who died in Vinita Friday, were held Tuesday morning in the Assembly of God Church. Rev. Cecil Tomlin, pastor officiated. Burial will be in the Hominy Cemetery with Powell Funeral Home in charge.
Pallbearers were J. O. Beckham, Guy Wilcox, Bill Martin, J. M. Cox, J. A. Mavity and R. M. Wilhite. Mrs. Otis Russell and Mrs. Cecil Tomlin sang “Sleep Mother Sleep” and “Farther Along” accompanied by Mrs. Jess Ballard.
Mrs. Burton was born July 11, 1906 in Ralston and made her home there and in Hominy until recently.
Survivors include three daughters Barbara Hudson of Wichita, Kans., Pansy Dunn, Merced, Calif. and Margaret Alice Burton of Pryor, and five sons William Murray McCamey, U.S. Air Force, Robert Burton, Hominy, James Burton of Granite, George Burton of Wichita, Kana. and Kenneth Burton of Pryor.
