Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lee Burton of Louisville, 67 years of age, were held Friday, December 22, at 10:00 a.m. from the Harbold Funeral Home in Louisville. The Rev. Sawyer of the Crescent Hill Baptist Church was in charge. Burial was in Resthaven Cemetery, in Louisville. Pallbearers were: Ray Hazard, Kenneth House, Herman, Leonard, Kenneth and Pat Baumgardner. Mrs. Burton was born in Taylor County, the daughter of Mary E. Willock and David Baumgardner. She died at the St. Joseph Infirmary in Louisville on Tuesday, December 19. Surviving are her husband, D. T. Burton of Louisville; six sons, Alvin and Tommie Burton of Clarksville, Indiana; Harold, William and Carl Burton, all of Louisville; and Charlie Burton of Detroit, Michigan; six daughters, Mrs. John Howell and Mrs. Warren Mason, both of Louisville; Mrs. Ellis Hamm of Perryville; Mrs. William Rogers of Chicago, Illinois; Mrs. Charles Cissel and Mrs. Hugh Wright, both of Clarksville, Indiana. Besides husband and children, she is survived by three brothers and three sisters: George Baumgardner of San Jose, Illinois, Omer Baumgardner of Louisville, Leslie Baumgardner, Mrs. Martin Miller, Mrs. Pearl Moss, and Mrs. Chester Watson, all of this county. ~The News-Journal, Thursday, January 4, 1951
