Mr. Burton was born in Greenup County Kentucky to James H. and Mary E. Daniels Burton and was raised and educted there. when he was seventeen years of age he went towork for Civilian consertion Corps for fiveeen months and moved to Indiana and worked for the Pennysylvania Railroad. he also worked in Muncie, Indiana at a steel mill He was drafted in in the u.s. Army in September 1941 and discharged on December 25,1945. on May 15,1943 he married Carolina A. Sauve in Yakima. Mr. Burton was a Fork Lift operator at Boise Cascade Mill from 1946 until his retirement in 1980, He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
Survivors include 3 sons, James C. Burton Jr. and Arnold L. Burton both of Selah, Jarvis D. Burton of Portland, Ore; five grandchildren; four brothers, Ernest Burton and Orville Burton both of Kentucky, George Burton and Bill Burton both of Ohio, five sisters, Mrs. Annie Harr, Mrs. Ida Webb, Ella Yates, Bernice Conklin and Mrs. Eva Howard all of Kentucky. He was precceded in death by his wife, Carolina; Carrie"Burton on June 14,1986 and a brother Elbert"Joe Clark" Burton on March 26, 1978.
Funeral services will be Held at 1;p.m wendnesday June 10in the Keith&Keith Terrace Heights Champel. next to Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Concluding services will follow in Terrace Heights memorial park Memorials may be Made to the American Heart Association.
