Mrs. Braddy was born July 13, 1923, in Toombs County on the farm of her maternal grandparents. She was a homemaker and attended Voice of Grace Ministries of Vidalia. She was preceded in death by her husband, M.A. Braddy; parents, Virgil Henry and Mary Delilah Williamson Burns; two sisters, Sherley Ann Burns and Dorothy Nell Tootle; and one brother, Jack Dempsey Burns.
Survivors include her two daughters, Kay B. (Charles) Carter and Ginger B. (Wayne) Carter, both of Vidalia; her five sons, Larry R. (Olivia) Braddy, of Tarrytown; Drexel (Beth) Braddy, of Soperton; Alan Braddy, of Soperton; Michael (Sherry) Braddy, of Soperton; and Damon (Laura) Braddy, of Tarrytown; three sisters, Margie B. Galbreath, Betty B. Galbreath, and Peggy B. (James) Thompson, all of Vidalia; one brother, Bobby (Margaret) Burns, of Fort Pierce, FL; 21 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011, in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home, Soperton, with Reverend Charles Carter officiating. Interment will be in the M.A. Braddy Cemetery, Treutlen County, adjacent to the old Herndon Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Grandsons, Ryan B. Braddy, Chris Braddy, Clint Braddy, Dustin Carter, Chuck Carter, Rhett Carter, and Jonathon Braddy will serve as pallbearers.
