Carlisle Burns served as a Captain in the Transportation Corps of the United States Army during World War II.

He was a son of John and Jennie Burns.

He was originally from the State of New York.

He was married to Maxie Louise Horner on August 12, 1933 in Manhattan, New York.

His last place of residence was in Augusta, Georgia.

He was interred in the Gettysburg National Cemetery on March 10, 1967.
