James H. Burns, 68, of Kerrville, formerly of Red River County, died January 17, 1989 at Kerrville V. A. Hospital. He was born in Annona on June 9, 1925, the son of John and Anna Burns. He was an auto parts man and World War II veteran. He served under the command of General George Patton and received a Purple Heart Medal. He was in combat at the Battle of the Bulge and on Omaha Beach.
Graveside funeral services were held January 20, 1989 at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Don Means officiating. Burial was under the direction of Jolley's Funeral Home.
Survivors are two sons, Mike Burns and Jim Burns, both of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Sallie Coleman of Annona and Mrs. Eurath Babb of Dallas.
