Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Mae Burns, 65, were held Wednesday, July 28, 1982 at 2:00 p.m., at the German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel in Steele. Rev. Charles Carnell officiated.
Mrs. Burns was born July 30, 1916 at Selmer, Tennessee, and died July 26, 1982 at the Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti.
She leaves six daughters: Vivian Peters and Shirley Jones, both of St. Louis; Martha Cutler and Lind Mancell, both of Caruthersville; Regenia King of Gideon, Missouri; and Janie Seigler of Doniphan; five sons: T.J. Burns of Jackson, Michigan; Jack Burns of Evansville, Indiana, Shannon Burns of Savannah, Tennessee; Paul Burns of Savannah; and Bruce Burns of Caruthersville; 38 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Eugene Jones, Leland Weaver, Benny Conaway, Mike Phelps, Eugene Laster, and Jack Laster.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery near Steele with the German-Aumon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
