Death of Aunt Polly Cutts
This morning at a few minutes past ten o'clock, Mrs. Mary Cutts, better known as "Aunt Polly Cutts," quietly closed her eyes in the peaceful embrace of death, and her spirit took its flight to the world beyond. Deceased was born in New Hampshire in 1802, and was therefore in her 83rd year at the time of her death. She came to Rock county in September, 1844, settling in the town of Fulton, where she resided until a year ago, when she came to this city and made her home with her son, Mr. A.K. Cutts, of Bluff street, second ward, at whose home she died. Aunt Polly Cutts was a noble woman, possessing many noble characteristics, and as such commended the respect and esteem of all her large circle of acquaintances. She was a christian woman in every sense, and sacrificed her own health and life in ministering to the wants of others. Of her family, only two sons survive her, Mr. A.K. Cutts, of this city, and Mr. R.I. Cutts, of the town of Harmony. Her husband, the late Nathan Cutts, and three sons, have preceded her to the other world some years ago.
The arrangements for the funeral will be announced tomorrow.
