Graveside Services for Mrs. Helen Burkes Amerson will be conducted 11 O'clock Thursday morning at the Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Winston Vaughn Officiating.
Mrs. Amerson, age 74, was a native of Early County, Georgia and had lived in Gordon most of her adult life. She was the daughter of the late John Henry Burkes and the late Missouri Lee Davis Burkes. She is the widow of the late Holmes Johnson Amerson,Jr. She retired from Piggly Wiggly and was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Mrs. Amerson was preceded in death by her son Frankie Amerson.
Survivors include her son Paul (Kelly) Amerson of Gordon, Sister Ola Pierce of Macon, grandchildren Sonny Amerson, Tony Amerson, Marie Harper, Rachel Amerson, Drew Hexum, Devin Hexum, Derek Hexum and 13 great grand children.
