Burica, Veronica (nee Mitrick) 64 years old, died peacefully of brain cancer with her family beside her. Wife of Michael for 43 years and mother of Michael (Deborah, grandmother of Michael, Joseph and Christopher), John (Lisa, grandmother of Jack and Madeline Jane) and Eliot. Daughter of the late Dr. Joseph and Mary Jane Mitrick. Sister to Sarah Jane (Bob Ray), the late Phillip (Judy whom she loved as a true sister), Mary Therese, Jodi (Ken Matts), Beth (Mike Brown), Barbara (Scott McKissack), Joseph (Ann) and Carrie Joe (Tom Jankowski). Special friend to Marsha and Larry Stawick and Barbara and Rich Keleher. Loved by many nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Jack McCue, sisters-in-law Roz Glaubke and Jackie Magness. Veronica was a retired RN who loved to read and garden. Her greatest love was for her family, especially at Christmas when all of her children and grand-children would gather at her home in Orland Park. Some of her happiest moments were spent watching her grandchildren play sports whether they be in the backyard or organized. She loved life and was the eternal optimist with family and friends being the most important things to her. Visitation Monday 3-9pm.
