LUCILLE BURGIN BIENEK, 87, of Duncan, Okla., died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, in Wilkins Nursing Center in Duncan.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Christian Church, with the Rev. Arnold Nelson Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Duncan Cemetery under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
She was a homemaker and a longtime member of First Christian Church.
She was born July 18, 1921, in Fleetwood, Okla., the daughter of Lotus B. and Ethel Croy Burgin. She was the oldest of eight children, two brothers and five sisters. She married Leo F. Bienek on March 30, 1946, in Oklahoma City, where they spent the first 35 years of their marriage. They moved to Marble Falls, Texas, after retirement, where they lived for 17 years. They moved to Duncan in 1989.
Regretfully they had no children of their own, but claimed all of their many nieces and nephews as their chldren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Boyd Burgin; a sister, Dorothy Zumar; and a niece, Gina Bullard Francis.
Survivors include her husband, Leo of the home; and four sisters, Imaree Hooper, Earleen Dibrell, Inetta Mullens and Betty Bullard, all of Duncan; a brother, Charles Burgin of Dallas, Texas; and many nieces and nephews who substituted as her children.
Lucille left this life as she lived it, with dignity and grace.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Rocky Bullard, Ralph Mullens, Jon Burgin, Jay Burgin, Curtis DeKeyrel and Gene Pape.
Honorary pallbearers are her brothers-in-law, Odell Hooper and Glen Mullens.
