Mrs. Inna Bower, widow of George P. Bower, for many years proprietor of the Blue Front Drug store in Tipton, died at her home on North West street Thursday night about 9:30, death resulting from complications brought on by high blood pressure and heart complications. Mr. Bower had been in ill health for the past three years and spent some time at Mercy hospital in Elwood taking treatment, and seemed to be improving. Thanksgiving Day she was feeling so much better that she entertained a number of dinner guests at her home at a noon day dinner. A few days ago her condition became serious again and the end came swiftly. Following the death the body was removed to the Young mortuary to prepare it for burial.
Mrs. Bower was born in Hamilton county near Arcadia 68 years ago. Her maiden name was Inna Burgess. She was married to George P. Bower of Tipton in 1893 and shortly after their marriage, the husband purchased a half interest in the Blue Front Drug store operated by A.M. Moore and A.F. Moore. The firm became known as Bower & Moore. Later he purchased the interest of his partner A.F. Moore and then sold a half interest to James Mood and the firm was known as Bower & Mood. Mr. Bower retired from the business, selling his interest to Mr. Mood. Mr. Bower died in 1923.
Mrs. Bower was a member of the St. John's Catholic church having united with that church at the time of her marriage. No children were born to them and the closest survivors are two sisters, Mrs. lucy Craft, wife of C.V. Craft of tipton and Mrs. Watt Sanders of Mound Valley, Kansas. She is survived, also, by a number of nieces and a nephew.
