Buck - The funeral of Mrs. Zoan Buck, who died at the state hospital at Osawatomie, Sunday afternoon was held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 from the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. W.R. Mansfield, 611 Manning. The services were conducted by Rev. A.L. Crim of the First Christian church, who chose for his text the 26th verse of the fifth chapter of Job: "Thou shalt come to thy grave in full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in his season."
Mrs. John Schwantes and Miss Edna Mumaugh sang "Jesus Will Take Care of You" and "Rock of Ages" two favorite hymns of Mrs. Buck.
The pall bearers chosen were E.B. Gault, Albert Brookshire, John Ewing and H.R. Wilson. The floral offerings were many and beautiful.
interment was made in Highland cemetery.
Mrs. Zoan Buck was born in Ohio, October 27, 1827 and was 91 years, 2 months and 17 days old.
She was a pioneer resident of Cowley county, coming here more than thirty years ago. For many years after the death of her husband, she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Belle B. Couchman of this city. Besides this daughter she leaves to mourn her loss another daughter, Mrs. L.B. Wistrand of East Chicago, Ind., and two sons Levi Buck of Tuttle, Ok., and Richard Buck of Antigo, Wisconsin.
