Missing in action since Nov. 6 while taking part in a raid over Germany is the war department's announcement of the fate of Lt. James W. Biker.

Born at Cristobal, Panama Canal Zone, Lt. Bunker had been stationed in England with the Eighth Air Force.

He won the Air Medal and two Oak Leaf Clusters to the Air Medal before he was reported missing from a mission over Northern France. He had been on combat duty overseas since the latter part of April.

Lt. Bunker volunteered for service in the Army Air Corps in May, 1942, and received his commission upon completion of bombadier training a Big Springs, Texas, in February.

His father is employed in a Government position in the Canal Zone.

Lt. Bunker was born at Cristobal, Canal Zone, and received his early education there and his higher education in the states. He had a degree in electrical engineering and before entering the army was employed with the electrical division of the Panama Canal.
