The son of Abraham George Wellington & Elizabeth (Swords) Buller, in 1860 he was a laborer living with his family in East Donegal Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He stood 5' 3" tall and had light hair and blue eyes.
A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in Lancaster County December 10, 1861, and mustered into federal service there January 28, 1862, as a private with Co. E, 107th Pennsylvania Infantry. Hospitalized at Alexandria, Virginia, date not yet discovered, he discharged by surgeon's certificate July 13, 1865.
He married Josephine Hitz July 17, 1866, and fathered Margaret (b. 10/15/66 - married a Frankenberg), Ervin (b. 12/28/68), Anna (b. 06/20/71), Serena (b. 08/03/73), William (b. 10/18/75), George W. Abraham told the Pension Department he was born in 1844, probably to appear older and receive a higher pension benefit, but the birth date from his death certificate is used here.
