And at this time he was a member of Hughes Aircraft Radar Section. He was assigned to a team of four that was given the task of increasing the "State-Of-The-Art" in slotted board-band planar array design. This was a must"have radar component that would accommodate the military's mach1-2 jet aircraft being commissioned in the field. Success here would more that double the detectable and fire control range as compared to the Parabolic Dish in use at the time along with improved mechanics of the aircraft. There was success and Bill was to spend the next 20 years contributing to the designs, developments, responsible for the specified electrical parameters, Liaising Engineering to production while yielding radar antennas for the U.S. Navy's F-14 ‘Tomcat", the Air Force's F-15 "Eagle", the F-16 "Thunderbird, and the Navy/Maries F-18 "Hornet".
In 1983 and 28 years at HAC, Bill chose early retirement. He relocated to the Engineering Dept o Microwave Products located in Chatsworth, CA. Here as an active minority owner he enjoyed the development challenges presented by several USA radar producing companies such as Norden Industries/United Technologies for their experimental strike-fighter, General Dynamics's shipboard "Phalanx" anti-missile arrays, Hughes Missile Division's "fire and forget" "AMRAAM" antenna along with weather radar antennas for commercial airlines to RCA and Raytheon. Bill left Microwave Products in 1988 and joined General Dynamics which was bought by HAC in 1992 and Bill was back at Hughes. He retired once again in 1995 but was called back in 1996-97 as a consultant to a team that was modifying the ‘Phalanx" arrays which would be installed in project ‘Centurion" which was part of Israel's "Iron Dome Defense".
Bill retired as a "Senior Engineering Specialist". He held U.S. Patents in "Cross-Polarized Dual Band (rf), Dual Mode (rf-ir) Image Place Arrays" and "Cross Polarized Dual Band Radomes".

Bill's spare time passions consisted of a deep seated need for athletic competition, staying active and contributing. He enjoyed league basketball and softball until he was 52, golf till 72 and tennis thru his eighty-fifth birthday. In 1959 he was asked by Hughes Management to assume the Managing Director position for basketball. There was one league, six teams and 60 players. In the ensuing years he grew it to 6 leagues, 48 teams and over 500 players. He was a certified basket official for about 10 years active calling games in the "California Interscholastic Federation". Bill was co-founder and president of "Golf Adventures Players Ass."
