The sixth and final child of Bud and Raffie would make his grand entrance on March thirty-first nineteen hundred and twenty seven. William Archie was born on a bright sunny morning in his parent's home. With a warm balmy breeze a hint of sea salt in the air baby Archie had arrived. The place the Bullard's called home was a big beautiful wood frame house with a large wrap around porch. The view from the porch overlooked the lake front and it was a stone throw from the ocean. Archie was the baby of the family; blond haired with tiny twinkling blue eyes. His parents and siblings spoiled him utterly and completely rotten. His personality was like that of his older sister Iris and brother Orville; he loved to have a good time. Yet he could also be shy and reserved. From the time the sun would come up he was out on the lake fishing, swimming and climbing coconut trees.

During wartime the local families would go to the ocean and walk up and down the beach looking for treasure that had floated ashore. What they would later learn was that the treasure came from merchant ships that German submarines had torpedoed and sunk as they patrolled silently and deadly just off the Florida coast. It was that very beach that Archie and his friends would spend much of their time pondering what the future would hold for them. Raffie would recount the tales of how Archie would misbehave as a child; he was stubborn to a fault. Raffie would chase after him calling out "you little scamp". He was forever out in the yard to cut his own switch so his Mama could tan his legs and teach him a lesson. As time marched on he would mature into a ruggedly handsome man. Over six feet tall, broad shoulders olive skinned with dark wavy hair and strong facial features. He was a man's man. A room grew still when he would enter. His physical strength was that of Herculean acclaim. Archie's hand are massive and powerful; one would envision he could hold the entire world in the center of his palm. Hard work is a pastime for this man; his theory is if there is work to do "get it done". He spent most of his working years in the dredging and commercial fishing field. No one could ever hold a candle to him when it came to either profession. The common thread that was woven between these two occupation was water. Being on the water with the movement beneath his feet, the wind whistling and whirling around him, he felt alive and vibrant.

As a young man Archie was also known for his incredible footwork. He could glide across the dance floor and end up center stage with the likes of Fred Astaire while bowing to the sound of thunderous applause. During peacetime Archie would join the Army. The military would further shape his disciplined approach towards life. He is the perfect combination of his parents and siblings. Close your eyes and you can sense the love of his family and how it has protected and guided him through life. What an amazing journey he traveled.
