FILLMORE - Merle C. Buffum of 10909 Dugway Road died Monday (Nov. 16, 2015) in Brothers of Mercy Nursing Home, Clarence.
He was born May 31, 1919 in Elma, a son of the late Irving and Gertrude Cole Buffum. He married Helen L. Harris, who predeceased him in 1998.
Merle was a lifelong farmer.
He was a former member of the Allegany County Dairy Association and the Rushford Grange and a former Mason of the Akron Lodge. He enjoyed playing euchre and was on the Board of Assessors, resigning this past year.
Surviving are a daughter, Eileen (David Kowalczyk) Rizzo of Elma; two grandchildren, Tracy (Eric) Vance of Kernersville, N.C., and Thomas (Erin) Rizzo of West Babylon, three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler and Madison Vance; and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Marilla Cemetery, Marilla.
